Armenian EEU membership ratified by Duma

Armenian EEU membership:  The lower house of Russia’s parliament today ratified the treaty clearing the way for  Armenia to  join the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). The new organisation, which will officially come into existence on January 1 2015, is intended to be an integrated  trading bloc consisting of the current members of the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan) and a number of other Central Asian states.
