Azerbaijan seeks outside investors: The government in Baku is looking to sources other than its sovereign wealth fund to finance the roll-out of its high-speed broadband infrastructure, its Deputy Minister of Communication and High Technologies Elmir Velizade said this week. About 70% of the population currently use the Internet with about 50% using broadband, and the aim of the roll-out is to provide access across Azerbaijan in its entirety at a cost of at least AZN450m (US$572m).
