Baku Metro extension contract goes to Polish contractor

Baku Metro extension contract: After two years of negotiations, Polish railroad specialist TINES is about to be appointed to work on the planned extension of the Azeri capital’s subway system, Poland’s  ambassador in Baku said today. Baku Metro’s 35 kilometres of lines are planned to grow to 119km in the next  15 years with the number of lines increasing from 2 to 5, and the network of stations from 23 to 76. Eight stations and two train depots are under construction. and France’s  Bouygues Travaux Publics is working on its rail lines.
