Bouygues clinches new Baku Metro contract

France’s Bouygues Travaux Publics has won a  €147m  contract to design and redevelop the  28 May station in the Baku Metro.  The project entails the provision of separate tracks and tunnels for its red and green lines, and will improve the transport service for passengers travelling into Baku from Old Gunashli, New Gunashli, Old Ahmedli, New Ahmedli, Zych, Hovsan and Garachukhur.
The ongoing development of Baku’s Metro will eventually see its two lines grow to five, its overall track length expand from 35km to 119km and the number of stations increase from 23 to 76.
Other subway systems are also planned for Sumgayit, Nakhchivan and Ganja.  Azernews
