Turkey buys into Shah Deniz: Turkey has increased its stake in two of the most significant Azerbaijan energy projects currently under development – the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP) and the Shah Deniz oil and gas fields. The Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) has acquired a 10% share in the consortium operating the Shah Deniz gas field from Total to take its total stakeholding to 19%, while the BOTA pipeline company has bought a further 10% of TANAP’s shares from the Azeri state-owned energy company SOCAR.
