Work begins on Azerspace-2

Azerspace-2: A group of employees from Azercosmos is visiting the US-based  satellite communications company Loral Space & Communications this month as Azerbaijan starts work on its new  telecommunication satellite, Azercosmos Satellite Engineering and Operations Manager Dunay Badirkhanov disclosed this week.
The Azerspace-2 geostationary satellite will provide digital broadcasting, Internet access, data transmission and VSAT multi-service networks, and is being financed by the Export Development Canada export credit agency. Scheduled for launch next year, the new satellite’s footprint will cover  Europe, Southeast Asia, Middle East and Africa from an orbital position leased from  Intelsat.
