Great Stone Park Belarus yesterday (January 30th) proposed that China participate in a number of new joint venture projects in the fields of machine building, chemistry, pharmaceutics, electronics, and communications to be located in the Great Stone China-Belarus Industrial Park. The proposal was put to a round table discussion group attended by officials from both countries and followed on from a meeting on the same day between delegations led Belarus’s Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky and China’s Assistant Minister of Commerce Zhang Xiangchen respectively. Situated 25 km from Minsk, the 91.km² the park is a Special Economic Zone with motorway links to both Moscow and Berlin and the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda on the Baltic Sea. Last November, the the Chinese corporation Sinomach announced that it was to become a shareholder in Great Stone. BeIta
