China’s PM promises to speed up Yamal LNG financing

Yamal LNG financing: At a private meeting with Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich  this week, Premier Li Keqiang pledged to speed up the process of financing the $27bn Yamal LNG project in the Russian Arctic. “We  discussed several issues includingthe implementation of the Yamal LNG project and supplies of Russian agricultural products to the Chinese market,” Dvorkoch told reporters after talks with Keqiang at the Boao Forum for Asia in Hainan. “The Premier’s response was positive and he said that he would give instructions to speed up the work.”
The Yamal LNG project entails the construction of a liquefied natural gas production facility in the Russian Arctic and the  opening up of  a new LNG sea transport route to Asia using icebreaking LNG carriers. The project is jointly owned by Russian largest independent gas producer Novatek (50.1%), China’s CNPC (29.9%), France’s Total (20%) and the The Silk Route Foundation (9.9%).
