Chinese economy up 7% in Q2

The Chinese economy grew by  7% in the second quarter of 2015, according to its National Bureau of Statistics – exactly the same rate of growth as in the previous quarter and bang on line with government forecasts. The Chinese government also expects the economy to maintain the same level of growth for the rest of the year.
The release of the data comes in against the backdrop of a severe correction on China’s stock markets triggered by a slowdown in  trade, investment and domestic demand.
