Iran-Finland transport link: Azerbaijan could become a key link in the opening up of an intermodal link between the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas the Finnish capital Helsinki, the Director-General of the Baku International Sea Trade Port Taleh Ziyado told the CIS Global Business Forum in Dubai last week.
“Azerbaijan has set up a robust logistics infrastructure by building competitive routes to effectively handle time-sensitive and high-value goods which have contributed to business growth across the region,” he said.
The link between Iran and Finland would be an extension of the North South corridor that will eventually carry cargo from Mumbai to St Petersburg and from there on to Western Europe.
