Germany’s DMK gets go ahead to buy into Russian cheese market

FAS, Russia’s state-owned anti-monopoly watchdog has given German dairy producer DMK Deutsches Milchkontor the green light to acquire several Russian cheese companies,Vedomosti reported last week. The companies in question are the Bobrovsky cheese-making factory, RichArt Group, the FlamanFrakht cheese producers and the Voronezh-based Dart leasing company in the Voronezh region, as well as a number of distribution companies in and around Moscow. The acquisitions will enable DMK to circumvent the food embargo imposed by the Kremlin in retaliation for the sanctions placed on Russia after its annexation of Crimea.
