Troika make progress on Greek aid talks

Greek aid talks: Representatives  from the so-called troika of the IMF, the EU and the European Central Bank have made progress in their efforts to hammer out the details of the third Greek aid package thanks to  “very good” levels of cooperation from the Greek authorities, according to sources in Brussels quoted by Deutsche Welle today, although consultations have been carrying on throughout the weekend over several unresolved issues.
If the talks are successful,  the €82bn third package of financial aid to Greece could be adopted as early as next week, a deadline that one European diplomat has described  as an “ambitious but feasible task. The 27-page document needs to be approved by the Greek Parliament – where there remains considerable opposition to the demands  for further  restructuring of the economy that come with the package – and then presented to EU Finance Ministers.
