Lukoil returns to Iran and the Anaran oilfield

Lukoil returns to Iran:  Russia’s largest privately owned  oil company Lukoil has reopened its office in Iran, its Vice President Ravil Maganov announced today. Maganov confirmed that the main priority was to recommence work on the Anaran oilfield close to Iran’s border with Iraq which it began to develop in 2003 but was forced to  abandon with the imposition of economic sanctions, but also indicated that Lukoil would be interested in expanding its presence as well. “We are studying geological data on other projects as well”, he said.
