Rouhani puts Iran-Iraq transport projects at top of agenda

Iran-Iraq transport: Iran’s President Rouhani has told a cabinet meeting to give top priority to the construction of the Khorramshahr-Basra railroad and the  Darreshahr-Abdanan road to facilitate the movement of pilgrims between the two countries. He allocated responsibility for the two projects – which  are being developed in conjunction with Iraq –  to the Minister of Road and Urban Development and the Head of the Organization of Management and Planning.
At the same cabinet meeting, the the Council of Ministers also reviewed the possibility of allocating $3.3bn to  a number of joint oil and gas.  transportation, water, fuel conversion and chemical projects with neighbouring countries.
