Israel and EEU: Israel and the EEU are in advanced talks about the establishment of a free trade agreement and could enter into the final stage of negotiations as soon as April, Israel’s (Soviet-born) Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has told TASS. The minister said both sides had been working intensively and were satisfied by the results of their efforts. “This is… a complex agreement which includes many parameters: standardization, customs procedures and many other things, but everything is going forward normally,” he said.“A free trade agreement [with the Eurasian Economic Union] would allow us to significantly boost our mutual trade.” The EEU has already agreed a similar arrangement with Vietnam and is also talking to Egypt.
