Japan prepares to invest in Iran

 Japan‘s  Government is on the verge of entering into an FDI agreement with Iran, according to sources quoted in the country’s  Nikkei newspaper. During a recent visit to Tehran headed by senior government representatives, the governor of Iran’s central bank Valliollah Seif  conducted talks with 10 Japanese companies and 18 Japanese banks.
The talks covered the possible shipment of automobile parts; medical equipment and construction equipment for building railways and power plants; and Japanese aid towards the modernisation of  Iran’s financial system,  while for its part Iran would provide  Japan with an additional source of oil and gas. The Japanese companies involved included Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mitsui, and Itochu.
