Authorities from Beijing and Astana have agreed to expand Kazakh-Chinese air routes “significantly,” the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan’s Ministry for Investment and Development said yesterday after holding talks with their Chinese counterparts. The move means that Kazakh airlines will now be able fly to Shanghai and Xian as well as to Beijing and Urumqui, while several Chinese carriers are now planning to begin flights to Astana and Kyzylorda.
