China pumps $23.6bn into Kazakhstan: Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov came away from last week’s visit to  China having secured signatures on no less than 33  cooperation agreements worth a total of $23.6 billion. Many of the agreements pertain to Kazakhstan’s Nurly Zhol economic stimulus programme and are focussed on urban transport and the mining, biochemicals,  energy and automotive industries, as well as  increased cooperation in customs and border management, new technology and culture. A Chinese-Spanish JV has also committed to building a wind farm.
