Customs Union railway JV: The Russian government has given its approval to a joint venture that will bring together the state railway companies of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan in a bid to capture a 2% share of the $1trn container traffic market of goods moving between between China and Europe. Last Friday, the Kremlin signed off on the transfer to the joint venture of 50% plus two shares in Transcontainer and 100% minus one share of Russian Railways’ subsidiary Russian Railways Logistics.
