Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas (KMG) has announced that it has transferred 50% of subsoil use rights of the Isatay block in the Caspian Sea to the Italian oil company Eni. The agreement was signed in the presence of President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi last Saturday. The block is to be developed jointly by the two companies who are already working together to develop the Kuryk shipyard on the Caspian Sea coast. Eni is also an equity partner in Kazakhstan’s giant Kashagan field.
