KazMunaiGas to develop new offshore field in Caspian Sea

KazMunaiGas to develop new offshore field: Kazakhstan is planning to develop a new offshore field in the Caspian Sea, according to the  country’s Energy Ministry.  The Ministry is working with the state-run KazMunaiGas to obtain a licence to develop the sea’s Tsentralnoye (Central) offshore oil and gas field, a spokesperson told Trend news agency today. The development comes less than two years after KazMunaiGas entered into a joint venture with TsentrKaspneftegaz  – the Russian company owned by Lukoil and Gazprom – to explore and develop the central section of the Caspian Sea.
