Islamic banks in Kazakhstan: The lower house of Kazakhstan’s Parliament yesterday approved a bill that paves the way for Islamic banks to introduce Shariah-compliant financial and insurance products into the country. The main purpose of the bill is to create a fully-fledged Islamic financial system in Kazakhstan by introducing Islamic security, creating more favourable conditions for Islamic banks and introducing a legislative framework for Islamic insurance and Islamic leasing.
