Samruk Kazyna restructure set to halve company portfolio

Samruk Kazyna restructure : Kazakhstan’s National Welfare Fund Samruk Kazyna is planning to halve the number of companies it manages from 600 to 300 and to strip out five layers of management over the next three years. In a total revision of the fund’s assets through a combination of  restructuring, privatization and M&A, it plans to divest itself of inefficient assets in traditional industries and to  create new businesses in energy, metallurgy, chemical industry, tourism and environmental management.
