Samruk Kazyna restructures: Kazakhstan’s sovereign wealth fund Samruk Kazyna is getting ready to appoint international experts to its board as it looks to strengthen its senior management team. “The fund needs to involve international experts and provide them with full decision-making powers,” its Chairman Umirzak Shukeyev said recently. The fund has been tasked with helping modernise Kazakhstan’s economy and with bringing an additional $11 billion to the country’s GDP by 2020. As part of the process, shares in 106 companies worth $9 billion have been put up for sale. Astana Times
