Yertayev buys 50% stake in Alma TV and spells out ambitions

Yertayev: Kazakh businessman and banking consultant Zhomart Yertayev is in the process of buying a 50% in Kazakhstan’s leading cable TV operator Alma TV. “Alma-TV is the leader among cable TV operators in Kazakhstan and a significant player at the data transmission market,” said Yertayev, who has also been appointed Director General of the TV company. “However, the growth potential of both the company and the market as a whole are far from being exhausted. In the next few years, the company will be transformed into a general telecommunications operator and its geographical coverage will no longer be limited to Kazakhstan’s territory.”
The 42-year-old  Yertayev is currently President of the Eurasian Centre for Financial Consulting and also a consultant at the RBK Bank. A final date for the share purchase has not been disclosed but is said to be imminent. Tengrinews
