Kyrgyzgaz, formerly Kyrgyzstan’s state-run gas distribution company, officially announced its liquidation this week. The development is a direct result of this January’s agreement between the Russian and Kyrgyz governments – ratified in February – for Gazprom to buy a 100% in its KyrgyzGazProm subsidiary and to take over responsibility for all of Kyrgyzstan’s natural gas transportation, distribution and sale operations.
