EEU strategy begins to comes into focus at Burabai summit

EEU leaders at last week’s Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Burabai

EEU strategy: Leaders of the fledgling Eurasian Economic Union  began fleshing out the new trading bloc’s long-term direction last week with the signing of a number of strategic documents at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in the Kazakh town of Burabai.
The documents included action plans for the development of  light industry, electricity-driven motor transport and agricultural machinery and equipment; and the formation of a Eurasian technological platform. The leaders also agreed to reduce the production  of ozone-depleting substances and to limit their use in trade between member states.
