Russian duty-free market “monopolised”

Russian duty-free market: The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) today described the Russian duty-free market as “monopolised and closed to competition”. On the instigation of First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, the FAS investigated duty-free shops at 89 border checkpoints across Russia and found that two-thirds of the border crossings have only one duty-free retail outlet and no competition, 17 had two to three shops, and only five border crossings had four or more.
