CNN gets new Russian broadcast licence

CNN gets new Russian broadcast licence: Russia’s media watchdog  Roskomnadzor has awarded CNN a 10-year broadcast license that it allows it sign up contracts with Russian cable and satellite providers. Last November CNN announced that it would stop broadcasting in Russia from the beginning of January, when a law banning commercials on pay television was set to come into effect. In the face of fierce criticism from domestic cable TV operators, the law was amended  to allow  channels with 75% Russian content to carry commercials, prompting CNN to reapply for a licence.
