Coke and Pepsi suspend Russian production at key plants

Coke and Pepsi suspend Russian production: Soft drinks giants PepsiCo and Coca-Cola Hellenic have announced that they are to halt production at key plants in Russia as a result of  the ongoing financial crisis. On Monday, PepsiCo, the biggest soft drinks producer in Russia, announced  it would close a fruit juice plant at  Ramenskoye the Moscow Region where  it which employs 400 staff working on  more than 10 production lines.  On the same day, Coca-Cola Hellenic’s communication manager Yevgeniya Mogilyova confirmed that that it  had already closed its plant in Nizhny Novgorod.  “We halted the production of two lines today and are now transferring production from Nizhny Novgorod to five other sites,” she said.
