Vladivostok diamond exchange: The Far Eastern port of Vladivostok may get its own diamond exchange, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev has told TASS. The idea has already been discussed with – and elicited interest from – neighbouring Japan and China, neighbouring Trutnev said in an interview this week. “We need to find experts in this field. It is a quite narrow circle of people.” Despite the fact that Russia is the world’s top diamond producer, the country still has no exchange. The world’s largest are currently in the US, Belgium, UAE, India and China.
