The Russian government is to spend RUB86bn developing the Elegest coalfield in the Republic of Tyva including a 321-km railroad link to the Trans-Siberian Railway. It has also allocated RUB1.1bn for the creation of a “smart” power grid to increase energy efficiency and RUB27bn to improve overall access to communication networks and information technology.
