EU to file antitrust suit against Gazprom: Antitrust agents working on behalf of the European Union are reported to be about to launch a legal attack on Gazprom, accusing it of overcharging buyers in eastern Europe. The move comes just a week after the new European Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager also accused U.S. tech giant Google of abusing its market power but, despite the fact that Vestager is spreading her net so widely, the accusations will do nothing to ease frictions between Brussels and Moscow and the ongoing game of ‘pipeline politics’ involving Ukraine and Bulgaria.
