Google beating Yandex as Android secures 70% of mobile market

Google beating Yandex: Russia’s online population increasingly prefers using Google to Russia’s indigenous search engine Yandex, according to a report released Tuesday by investment firm Morgan Stanley.A survey conducted by the investment bank between 2012 and 2014 found that 51% of Russian mobile users said that they frequently used Google, compared to the  41% who said that Yandex was their search engine of choice.  The report suggested that Google’s success was partly due to the fact that over 70% of smartphones in Russian run on Android.
