Russian vodka exports to CIS fall by 72%

Russian vodka exports fell by 36% in the first six months of 2015, according to figures released by the country’s Federal Customs Services. The biggest drop in demand came from CIS countries, where the 160,000 decaliters exported represented a 72% drop over the same period in 2014.  Exports to non-CIS countries fell by 7%. Last year, Russia’s overall vodka production fell by 22.5%  while the volume of retail sales of alcoholic beverages as a whole shrunk by 14.5%.
