Hungary eager to discuss Turkish alternative to South Stream

Hungary wants to start discussing the possibility of getting its supplies of Russian gas via the Turkish Stream project sooner rather than later, its Foreign Minister Peter Siyyarto said this week. 60% of the gas consumed by Hungary comes from Gazprom and it therefore has a vested interest in securing a supply line that both bi-passes Ukraine and is an alternative to the stalled South Stream pipeline that was to run through Bulgaria.
