KamAz to develop driverless heavy truck by 2020

KamAz to develop driverless heavy truck: The Russian heavy truck maker KamAZ plans to have launched a driverless heavy vehicle by the end of the decade, it announced today (February 3). It is to go into partnership with the Cognitive Technologies software company to deliver a truck that would be able to drive itself automatically using a passive radar system and information amassed by video cameras attached to the vehicle’s exterior. The project is to be co-funded by $4.5m from the  the country’s Education and Science Ministry and $1.35m from KamAz itself. The Moscow Times
