EU food import ban: The Kremlin today accused the European Union of adopting ‘Russophobic’ policies over its decision to extend sanctions until the end of January next year, with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev calling for the current ban on EU food imports also to be prolonged in retaliation. The extension until January 31 2016 means that the economic pressure on Moscow will continue through the deadline for the implementation of all parts of the cease-fire agreement over thrashed out in Minsk to end hostilities in eastern Ukraine.
