Mistral delivery: Russia’s agreement to a ceasefire in Donetsk has not made any difference to France’s stance on the delivery of the first of the two Mistral helicopter carriers that it has built in a €1.2bn contract, its President Francois Hollande said yesterday. Speaking at a news conference in Brussels after an extraordinary EU summit, Hollande said he hoped conditions for the delivery of the Mistral ships would shape up in the future, but that was not the case at the moment. The French government has made it clear that it will not deliver the ships until there is a resolution of the crisis in Ukraine, while Russia is considering taking France to court for non-delivery.
