His words were almost immediately reinforced by China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi who predicted that bilateral trade between between the two countries was heading for $100bn. “We will make every effort to reach … $ 100bn in bilateral trade, [and we] will sign an agreement on cooperation in the area of economic belt Silk Road,” he said. China was also prepared to sign an agreement confirming the western route of gas supplies from Russia; to begin the construction of the gas pipeline along the eastern route; and to continue to cooperate on the development of long-range wide-body aircraft . “We will also develop and deepen cooperation in financial and banking sector in the field of nuclear energy, oil fields, he told the Prime business news agency.
