As doubts grow around Brazil’s ability to get all Rio de Janeiro’s facilities finished on time, the IOC is considering if it would be possible for Moscow to host the 2016 Olympics, according to a source inside the International Olympics Committee. The source added, however, that it was unclear if Russia could afford to host the Games or if it would be able to provide adequate facilities for certain sports such as sailing, equestrian events and cycling.
