Presidents agree to closer ties between Silk Road Economic Belt and EEU

Silk Road Economic Belt: China and Russia have agreed to work towards closer integration between Beijing’s Silk Road Economic Belt initiative and the  Moscow-led Eurasian Economic Union after President Xi Jinping’s visit to  Moscow this weekend. “The talks concluded with the adoption of a joint declaration on deepening comprehensive partnership, strategic cooperation and the promotion of mutually advantageous ties as well as a joint declaration on cooperation in coordinating development between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Silk Road Economic Belt,” the Kremlin confirmed in a statement released after the talks. 
Agreements over the Moscow-Kazan high-speed rail link, the Moscow-Beijing Eurasian high-speed transport corridor priority project, and reciprocity between  the Chinese BeiDou and Russian GLONASS navigation systems were also signed off during the Chinese President’s visit.
