Russian Railways chief calls for Trans-Eurasian trading corridor

Trans-Eurasian trading corridor: Russian Railways President Vladimir Yakunin has called for Europe and Asia to be connected by a “Trans-Eurasian Development Belt”, a multifaceted transport corridor including include railway lines and oil, gas and water pipelines, as well as electricity grids and communication networks that would stretch from the Pacific to the Atlantic. The venture could act as catalyst for as many as 10-15 new industries and create several new cities and thousands of jobs. ITAR-TASS
