Putin in Cairo to discuss nuclear power, manufacturing and aerospace

Putin in Cairo: Bilateral trade , as well as geopolitics, is on the agenda for President Putin and his Egyptian counterpart President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi  in the course of the former’s visit to Cairo over the  next two days. With trade between the two countries up 80% year on year at $4.6bn for the first 11 months of 2013, Putin is being accompanied by several senior politicians as well as  Rosatom chief Sergey Kiriyenko  (a former Prime Minister) and Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).  Prospective areas of cooperation are likely to be nuclear power, machinery manufacturing,  aerospace and defence, where the the contract potential Russian arms suppliers is estimated to be over $2bn.  ITAR-TASS
