Putin lifts ban on S-300 rocket exports to Iran: President Vladimir Putin has signed an order lifting Russia’s ban on the delivery of S-300 anti-missile rocket systems to Iran today, in a move seen as intended to give his country a head start in the international arms sales race  that is bound to kick off  if sanctions are lifted and the agreement over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear programme holds. In a separate move, Moscow also demonstrated its determination to boost economic ties with  Tehran by initiating an oil-for-goods swap which will see Russia bartering grain, equipment and construction material in exchange for supplies of crude oil from Iran.
