Renault suspends Moscow plant for three weeks as car sales dive

Renault ‘s Moscow plant

Renault suspends Moscow plant: French car giant Renault is to close down its Moscow car plant for three weeks from February 16 to March 6 as Russia’s growing economic crisis takes its toll on the domestic car market. With Russian car sales having dropped by 24% year on year this January, it has decided to follow in the footsteps of  both General Motors  and the Volvo Group who have already decided to  temporarily stop production at their St Petersburg and Kaluga factories respectively.
