Rosatom is planning to start construction of Turkey’s first nuclear power in March next year. The Akkuyu plant will be located close to Turkey’s Mediterranean coast and will consist of four Water-Water Energetic Reactor (VVER) units. Rosatom has set up a subsidiary specifically to build, own, and operate the plant. Rosatom’s CEO Sergei Kiriyenko said this week that he did not rule out building more plants in Turkey, although he stressed that no further ventures were currently under discussion. Lenta
