Rosneft privatisation gets the go-ahead from Medvedev

Rosneft privatisation: Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree providing for the sell-off of 19.5% of his government’s stake in the Rosneft oil company, provided it can reach an asking price of RUB420bn ($8bn) which equates to the price at the company’s original IPO back in 2006. The Russian state owns Rosneft through Rosneftegas, and the sale would reduce its stake  from 69.5% to 50% plus one share. The partial privatisation of Rosneft was agreed in 2013, although it was originally scheduled for 2016. Moscow Telegraph
