Russia and China close to signing $20bn Moscow-Kazan railway contract at SPIEF

Moscow-Kazan railway: Russia and China are expected to sign an agreement for the construction of the high-speed rail link between  Moscow and Kazan on the sidelines of this week’s St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The 770km railway  is expected to cost over $20bn, and is another signal of China’s intent to open overland trade links with Europe, in this instance along the Trans-Siberian route.
