Russia denies reports: Reports in the German media over the weekend that Russia was about to advance the government in Athens €5bn against future transit fees from the Turkish Stream pipeline have been denied by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. “Naturally, the question of energy cooperation was raised [during Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’s recent visit to Moscow],” he told the Business FM radio station “and naturally … it was agreed that at the expert level there would be a working-out of all issues connected with cooperation in the energy sphere, but Russia did not promise financial help because no one asked for it.”
